I Need Help Starting A Major Online Auction Website?
I have had plans for the past 6 years to start a major online auction website (as in as major as eBay). Does anyone have a list of things that are required to run such a big website (e.g. security, promotions, headquarters, legal stuff, software, hardware, computer stuff, etc.)? I have looked up stuff and bought a whole bunch of stuff and it did not help. My online auction website will have more catagories, choices, things, and other better stuff than eBay (I have yet to come up with a name for my online auction website as all 45 names that I have come up with have been taken). Also, the price that you would have to pay on my site would be only 35 cents (compared to eBay’s 35 cents to place your item on eBay and the 15 cents for additional pictures and more money for more features which is rediculous for people to pay). Could someone please help me and give me ideas and things that I need to even begin and continue to run such a huge online auction website possibly bigger than eBay????

Also on self promotion you can join social networking sites for website promotion.

You can ask for professional seo company for traffic generation and they will do for you.

Well dear best is to do online advertising to promote your website. Search engines and social media sites really helps to promote site. Make mini sites on Squidoo, Hubpages, use Face book , twitter, forum participation,link building, Blogs Comments Posting etc. also helps to reach our targeted audience. you can join facebook and create a fan page for your website .
create a twitter and search for people who are interested in your niche.
you can even use paid traffic like google adwords and facebook ads you will see quick result .
